When it comes to longevity Toyota takes top spots on many lists, including being number one with Business Insider and Forbes. The brand is known for being reliable and one study from iSeeCars found that Toyota was most likely to last past 200,000 miles.  

Honda

Honda is a close second when it comes to longevity and dependability. The same study found only a 0.2 percent difference in longevity performance. This almost negligible difference really puts Toyota and Honda head-to-head for the top spot for long-lasting vehicles.  

Lexus

It’s no surprise that the luxury brand owned by Toyota is on our list. Toyota’s are known for longevity and reliability, and Consumer Reports agrees, naming Lexus its most reliable vehicle of 2022. Not only was it ranked number one overall, but it also received the most reliable SUV of 2022 with the GX model.  

Kia

Kia has worked hard to make solid vehicles and cultivate a reputation for being reliable, and it’s paid off. The auto maker received top marks from J.D. Power in their 2022 U.S. Vehicle Dependability StudySM for non-luxury vehicles. Kia also placed number one with Yahoo! Finance for reliability.  

Hyundai

Hyundai also placed well with J.D. Power and Yahoo! Finance, snagging the third spot on both of those lists. Couple this with their America’s Best Warranty of 10 years or 100,000 miles it’s easy to see that longevity is built into the brand.  

Ford

When it comes to longevity, Ford is an obvious choice for dependability, and J.D. Power thinks so as well. The Ford Flex ranked third in midsize SUV, the F-150 took third in large light duty pickup, the Mustang got first for midsize sporty car and the Ranger was second in midsize pickup. Ford also grabbed the sixth spot in the iSeeCars 200,000 miles study, only 0.6 percent away from the top place. 

Dodge

Overall, Dodge ranked eighth place in the J.D. Power study, and grabbed a few spots in the top three with the Charger in third for large car, the Durango in second for midsize SUV and the Grand Caravan in first place as highest ranked for minivans.

Auto Market Predictions for 2023 

The auto market has been uneven since the onset of the pandemic back in 2020. That year, light vehicle sales plummeted due to a variety of issues including mandatory lock downs, chips and part shortages, supply chain challenges as well as employment fluctuations for buyers. There was an uptick in 2021, but then again in 2022 we saw a slump in car sales with covid surges. However, auto market sales are expected to increase in 2023 as things start to even out across the board. 

Here’s what’s in store for the car buying market in 2023. 

Easing of the chip shortage

Today’s vehicles rely on electronic parts. Without these, the vehicle simply won’t run. That’s why the semiconductor shortage that led to the chip shortage had a huge impact on new vehicle production. However, the chip shortage should start to ease at the end of this year allowing for a boost in production in 2023. It’s forecasted that in 2023 global car production will be up 7 percent, with a full recovery anticipated in 2024. 

Supply chain might still be slow

Vehicle sales are part of a global economy. Parts and the vehicles themselves are manufactured on the global supply chain, and that means that global events can impact vehicle supply. J.P. Morgan notes that COVID-19 outbreaks in China as well as the Russian-Ukraine conflict have affected auto supply chains and production this year. These will continue to impact production and delivery of autos to the U.S. in 2023, so makers might need to push delivery dates of new vehicles. Patience will be important in 2023, particularly when reserving/pre-ordering a new vehicle.  

Pre-owned vehicle prices will level out

As you may have read in our previous blog, pre-owned vehicle prices have seen a jump with high demand and low supply. However, global vehicle production will be up in 2023 which will lower the need for pre-owned vehicles to supplement the new car market. This will cause prices on pre-owned vehicles to level out, and in many cases fall back to pre-pandemic pricing. 

EVs will see a significant wave of adoption

Electric vehicles (EVs) will see a surge in adoption in 2023. Recent improvements in EV technology and mileage range have made them a very appealing purchase, especially considering current gas prices. EVs offer a wide array of benefits and now there are options in a variety of vehicle types. Global EV sales are expected to increase 20 percent year-over-year in 2023 and generate $462 billion in revenue.

Best to Buy New or Pre-owned? 

It’s no secret that the car-buying market is challenging right now. The market has seen turbulence brought on because of the pandemic, with microchip and other parts shortages and supply chain woes. Because of this, vehicles themselves are in short supply, keeping prices for new vehicles at MSRP and increasing the value of pre-owned vehicles. We’re also seeing interest rates affect purchasing power for shoppers, so there’s a lot to consider when deciding what vehicle to buy. 

So, what’s the best deal if you’re looking to make a purchase right now? New or pre-owned? 

Buying new

If you’ve got your eye on a new vehicle it’s still a good time to purchase. The newest features and technology upgrades are fantastic and even at MSRP there are many options that offer good value. You just have to go into your search knowing that you’ll likely be paying MSRP or close to MSRP.  

Because of the vehicle shortage, there is high demand which doesn’t leave a lot of room for negotiation. If you’ve found the exact vehicle you want it’s important to make your purchase decision right away. Since there is low supply, vehicles are being sold quickly. Be aware that there could be several other buyers also looking at the same car, so if you find what you want it’s best to snag it as soon as possible. You might also have to be patient if you miss an opportunity and work closely with your sales representative to get the car you want.  

Additionally, if you’re looking at the newest model or one that’s a few years older, you might notice that they are fairly close in price. That’s because the demand for vehicles is higher than the supply, so those newer used vehicles can fetch a higher price. At that point, if the price difference isn’t too big and you can afford it, you might as well go for the newest option! 

Buying pre-owned 

Pre-owned cars are seeing a bump in value as depreciation is slowed due to increased demand. This means that you will pay more for a used vehicle than you would have a few years ago. There are still some good deals to be found. If you’re looking for a pre-owned vehicle that’s more than a few years old, then you’ll see some appealing pricing that’s significantly lower than a new vehicle purchase.  

Keep in mind that demand is still high. If you need a vehicle and find something that is close to what you want, you should be open to compromising on your wish list, as it’s probable that the vehicle will find another buyer soon. Make sure the vehicle is certified pre-owned to have the peace of mind that the vehicle is in good shape. Certified pre-owned vehicles often have a warranty through the dealership which makes them a good purchase.

6 Top Auto Shows in the U.S. 

Auto shows are incredibly fun. Huge convention halls full of perfectly detailed and shiny vehicles with the latest features, immaculate classics and concept cars that show what could come. The entire place is filled with new car smell and buzzing with maker representatives that can tell you all about each vehicle. You don’t need to be in the market for a new vehicle to enjoy an auto show. There’s plenty to see and do, and if you love a day exploring cars as much as we do, be sure to check out these top U.S. auto shows. 

Check out these fantastic auto shows: 

1. Chicago Auto Show

The Chicago Auto Show is one of the nation’s largest and also one of the longest running auto shows in North America, being first held in 1901. The show runs in February at McCormick Place, and offers a full schedule of events, special guest speakers and domestic and import vehicle displays. 

2. North American International Detroit Auto Show 

Of course Motor City has a wonderful auto show! The Detroit Auto Show takes place in September and even had an Air Mobility Experience that highlighted personal craft including electric vertical take-off and landing, amphibious sport planes, hoverboards and more.   

3. LA Auto Show 

Another long-running auto show is the LA Auto Show. Showcasing over a thousand vehicles, attendees can get up close and personal with vehicles for everyday use, motorsports, exotics, lowriders and more. The show takes place in November at the LA Convention center and is open on Thanksgiving Day. 

4. OC Auto Show

If you’re looking for a family friendly auto show, this is a great option and runs from the end of September to early October. From scavenger hunts, virtual driving, kids test drive and comic book adventures, the OC Auto Show is packed with tons of vehicle experiences for the whole family. Lots of test drives are available from a variety of makers and Camp Jeep is there to help you hone your off-roading skills with their thrilling indoor course.   

5. Las Vegas Auto Show

Put on by MotorTrend, the Las Vegas Auto Show is a great option for those that want to sneak in some auto fun as part of a larger vacation experience. The Las Vegas Convention Center is right off the strip in the heart of Vegas, so you can hit the auto show during the day and then walk to some fine dining or entertainment at any of the surrounding hotels and casinos. The next show will be in Spring 2023.  

6. New York International Auto Show 

Dating back to 1900, the New York International Auto Show is another option that’s been going for over a hundred years. The show takes place in April at the new Javits Convention Center and offers multiple displays and events including an EV Test Track, Saratoga Auto Museum, Camp Jeep, Hometown Heroes and more. The show itself is over three convention floor levels of automotive fun!

Going All in on All Electric 

A recent regulation was passed in California that will ban the sale of new gasoline-powered vehicles beginning in 2035, catapulting the state into embracing fully electric vehicles (EVs). The goal, of course, is to protect the environment with zero-emissions vehicles and be able to start to phase out fossil fuels on the road. It’s a big step, so what does the road ahead look like? Are we ready to switch to 100 percent electric vehicles? 

The EV timeline

The timeline of 2035 is very aggressive. Automakers will need to ramp up design and production of electric vehicles sooner than anticipated for a 100 percent switch. However, this was already somewhat in the works as President Biden set a goal for half of new car sales to be electric, fuel cell or hybrid by 2030. If this were to take place, about 60-70 percent of vehicles on the road could be electric by 2050. This would dramatically reduce the carbon footprint of the personal vehicle sector, though a lot more work to reduce emissions will need to be done in other transportation areas as well. 

Electric range

One of the biggest concerns people note when talking about the switch from gas to electric is range. Range anxiety is real, and while early adopters of all electric vehicles might have had difficulty getting around or taking road trips, many of today’s modern EVs have much more powerful batteries that facilitate greater range capabilities. Here are a few examples that compare gas-powered mpg and electric ranges: 

BMW 840i Gran Coupe: approximately 378 miles city
BMW i7 sedan: approximately 318 miles of range with a full charge 

Hyundai Tucson: estimated 343 miles city
Hyundai IONIQ 5: estimated 303 miles of range with a full charge 

KIA Seltos: estimated 330 miles city
KIA EV6: estimated 310 miles of range with a full charge 

In some cases we’re not too far off, and with continued improvements, by 2035 we might be able to put range anxiety to rest. 

Charging availability and stations

Both gas and electric vehicles need to be powered. That means stopping at the pump and filling the tank with gas or plugging in your vehicle at home/hitting up a power station. For most everyday driving, electric vehicle owners should be able to charge their vehicles at home at the end of the day. However, if you have a lot of driving to do like in the case of a road trip, you’ll need to stop at a charging station along the way. You’ve also probably seen some charging spots at shopping centers, which makes it easy to charge up while running errands or having a meal out. 

It seems like, at least in cities, there’s always a gas station nearby. We’ll need to do that for charging stations, too. Electrify America is already working to install fast-charging stations across the country. We’ll also need to up our grid capacity to support the charging of more EVs. It’s estimated that we’d need to add about a third more to our grid capacity to accommodate the additional charging vehicles. Of course, we will want this grid upgrade to be from sustainable energy sources, otherwise it won’t make sense to still be using fossil fuels to power electric vehicles.   

Charging speed

It doesn’t take long to fill up at the pump, and that’s what most people expect. With DC Fast Charging, some vehicles can get about 100 miles per ten minutes of charge. If you’re on a road trip, that might mean a 30-minute stop to get your vehicle back up to a full charge. Henry Lee, director of the Environmental and Natural Resources Program at the Harvard Kennedy School, told The Harvard Gazette that, “Drivers will be willing to wait 10 to 15 minutes to charge their cars so they can drive 200 more miles. But if they have to wait much longer, they will not be happy.” It looks like one of the next big innovations needed to switch to 100 percent electric will be faster charging capabilities. 

Almost There

We still have a way to go before we’re ready to switch to 100 percent electric, but we’re also not too far away. Most makers have embraced the electric vehicle, we have extended ranges and the convenience to charge at home, which are big pluses. We still need to work on on charging station availability, upgrading the power grid and charging speed. It will be interesting to see the plans and innovations that take shape to meet California’s sustainability goal.

As part of BMW’s M Division, owners can expect a motorsports-inspired luxury experience. 

2023 BMW i4

Another model that offers a standard and M model, the i4 Gran Coupe provides an exceptional ride with incredible efficiency. The eDrive40 can get up to 301 miles on a full charge and with DC Fast Charging gets 109 miles of range for only 10 minutes of charge. The M50 model is a powerhouse with 536 horsepower and goes 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. All of that in a vehicle that still has an impressive 270 miles of range.  

2023 Lexus RZ 450e

Lexus has updated the timeline of the 2023 Lexus RZ 450e release, which is highly anticipated for the beginning of 2023. The fully electric 450e will offer up to 225 miles of range with Direct4 all-wheel drive and will go from 0-60 is about 5.2 seconds. Lexus also equipped the 450e with a panoramic roof, an in-cabin sound system that provides audio feedback to the driver and an in-dash interface that allows different drivers to create profiles with personalized settings. 2024 Maserati Grecale Folgore

7 Top Races from Around the World 

Heart racing speed. The pinnacle of performance. The finish line brings glory. Racing is an exciting spectacle that centers on exceptional driving skill and precision design and mechanics. It’s no wonder that racing captures the attention of so many car enthusiasts.  

Here are some of the top races from around the world: 

1. 24 Hours of Le Mans
   A test of endurance and concentration, 24 Hours of Le Mans has been taking place since 1923 and is the longest running race of its kind. This race puts both human and mechanical stamina to the test, as drivers and vehicles must be able to operate at top performance for 24 hours. 
2. Indianapolis 50
   Dating back to 1911, the Indianapolis 500, also known as the Indy 500, takes place on a track nicknamed the “Brickyard,” as the whole raceway was once paved in bricks. Now, just a small section at the start/finish line is still paved in bricks. Formula 1 race cars are open cockpit, single-seat vehicles that are constructed for the sole purpose of racing and can hit speeds of around 230 mph.  
3. Monaco Grand Prix
   Another Formula One racing event is the Monaco Grand Prix. Instead of taking place on a track this race twists its way through the streets of Monaco. The narrow passageways and many sharp turns make it especially challenging. The Monaco Grand Prix, Indy 500 and 24 Hours of Le Mans make up the Triple Crown of Motorsport. So far only one person has one all three races, though several have won two of the three.
4. Daytona 500
   Daytona International Speedway is knowns as the “World Center of Racing” and is one the most significant NASCAR events of the year. It also sets the tone for the season and gives viewers an idea of which teams will be ahead of the pack. 
5. Bathurst 1000
   Held in Australia on Mount Panorama, the Bathurst 1000 is a V8 Supercar race is full of suspense. The race originated in 1960 and was officially moved to Bathurst in 1963. It has mostly been dominated by Ford of Australia and Holden (GM) of Australia. 
6. FIA World Rally Championship
   The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) World Rally Championship (WRC) offers several rallying groups for teams to choose from. The Championship takes place over many races held in locales around the globe including in Sweden, Spain, Japan, Kenya and New Zealand. Toyota’s GAZOO Racing will be defending their undefeated title in the 2022 races. 
7. Rainforest Challenge
   This is the perfect race to watch for those that have a passion for 4x4s and taking the path less traveled. The Rainforest Challenge (RFC) takes place in Malaysia and demands drivers tackle challenges such as rain, mud, monsoons, wildlife and difficult terrain in a jungle setting.

This is why it’s so important to change your oil as part of your regularly schedule maintenance to ensure top performance and engine protection.  

Three Common Oil Types 

Conventional Oil

Conventional oil, or non-synthetic oil, is made from refined crude petroleum with various additives depending on brand. Generally, this is the type of oil that benefits from the three months or three thousand miles rule, as there aren’t any synthetic ingredients to prolong the life of the oil. While this oil is the most affordable of all the options, it can also degrade more quickly and need to be replaced more often.  

Full Synthetic

Full synthetic oil still uses a petroleum base but is highly modified with synthetic additives to improve performance. Synthetic oils have the longest life span of all the oil types and can perform at a high level in demanding situations. While conventional oil can use chemical additives to formulate a multigrade option, synthetic oils are specifically designed to be multigrade, so they provide good protection in varying temperatures. While full synthetic offers many benefits, it’s also the costliest option. However, since it does have an extended life span, vehicles that use full synthetic can go a long time between oil changes.  

Synthetic Blend

Synthetic blend is just that, a blend of conventional and synthetic oil. There is no industry standard for the amount of conventional to synthetic oil that must be used, so brands will have their own formulations. To some this offers the best of both worlds, as a blend can be somewhat more affordable than a full synthetic, but provide some of the protection and longevity that a full synthetic would offer.   

What Type of Oil is Best?

This depends a lot on the year, make and model of your vehicle. Most older vehicles were designed to use conventional oil, so the manufacturer might recommend continuing the use of that oil type. However, many newer vehicles are designed to use synthetic or a blend. Follow your vehicle’s manufacturer recommendation for the type and weight of oil you should use.

What to Consider Before Purchasing Your Van 

You can take your road trip adventures to the next level by converting a van to a camper. Van conversions are incredibly popular as they can sometimes be more affordable than purchasing an RV, and owners can create and design their own space.  

There are some important criteria to consider before purchasing your van. After all, this will be your home base on wheels, and you want to be comfortable. The point of converting a van is so that you don’t have to stop and find a hotel on your trip or plan around specific spots to stay. Ideally, you’ll want a van that can easily be transformed into a space that is good for both driving and relaxing/sleeping.  

Think about: 

Interior height: Will you want to be able to stand up completely in your van? Do you want to have space to place a bed above other living or driving areas?
Cargo space: The back end of your van is going to be your living space, so the length and width will determine how much you can fit.
Fuel economy: You’re going to be driving around a lot, so you should consider if you want a gas or electric option.
Weight capacity: You’ll be filling your van with all the creature comforts of a home including a bed, seating area and possibly even a small kitchenette and bathroom. Make sure your van can easily handle the load.

2022 Ford Transit

The Ford Transit comes in four available models from the standard panel van to passenger options that have varying sizes of windows. It comes with an optional power sliding door and even has a built-in modem to help with internet access. With other features like adaptive cruise control for long stretches of road and Blind Spot Assist 1.0, this is a fantastic option. Maximum payload here is 5,110 pounds. 

2023 Ford E-Transit

If you love the idea of traveling by vehicle, but are concerned about your carbon footprint, the Ford E-Transit offers all the space of a cargo van with the ability to charge up instead of fuel up. It comes in three roof heights and has a Pro Power Onboard, which supplies 2.4kW of power that you could use from some small electronic devices. Range varies from 126 -108 miles per charge, so this is a van that is ideal for those who like to make stops and explore instead of driving straight through for hundreds of miles. Maximum payload is 3,860 pounds. 

2022 Ram ProMaster®

The Ram ProMaster is packed with many standard features including driver assist tools and parking guidance. It comes in four different lengths (two with high roofs) which will allow you to pick the right interior space for your conversion. It can carry a maximum payload of 4,680 lbs. and can tow 6,910 lbs., so if you want to tow some toys on your trip this is the van to convert!

Some jobs can only be done with a truck that was made for towing. Whether you need a truck for work or play, here are some pickups that can do the heavy lifting. 

2022 Ford F-450 

Ford is a brand known for trucks, with the F series often being the first that comes to mind. The Ford F-450 can tow up to 32,500 lbs. with the 5th wheel hitch package. If you don’t need all of that towing capacity, consider an F-150 (8,500 lbs.) or F-250 (15,000 lbs.) which also provide strong towing capabilities. 

2022 Ford F-150 Lighting 

Need to tow but also want to take care of the environment and save on gas? The F-150 Lighting all electric is the truck for you. Max payload is 2,000 lbs. and max towing is 10,000 lbs., all with an EPA-estimated range of 320 miles. 2022 Ford Maverick 

Winner of the North American Truck of the Year™, the Ford Maverick is the perfect truck for those who want an everyday driver that can also tow their toys. Payload capacity is up to 1,500 lbs. and with the towing package you can move up to 4,000 lbs., perfect for jet skis, a small camper, small boat or dirt bikes.    

2023 Honda Ridgeline 

The 2023 Honda Ridgeline has a lay-flat drunk bed, Lockable In-Bed Trunk®, Honda’s iCTM4® AWD System, Dual-Action Tailgate which opens both down and out (like a car door) and a scratch-resistant truck bed. Capable of towing up to 5,000 lbs., this is a truck that will deliver reliable performance. 

2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz 

The Hyundai Santa Cruz is essentially and SUV with truck capabilities. It provides a comfortable ride with in-cabin features such as plenty of back seat leg room and a full in-dash technology suite. Outside it has a truck bed capable of carrying a payload up to 1,753 lbs. and up to 5,000 lbs. of towing capacity.  

2022 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon 

The Jeep Gladiator Rubicon can conquer both terrain and towing. This is an ideal vehicle for those who like to tow a camper and then detach their vehicle to adventure off road. The Gladiator Rubicon is Trail Rated, can carry up to 1,700 lbs. of payload and can tow up to 7,650 lbs.   

2022 Nissan Titan 

The Nissan Titan boasts the best-in-class standard horsepower with a 400-hp Endurance® V8 engine. You’ll get 413 lb.-ft. of torque and 11,060 lbs. of towing capacity. The Titan also comes equipped with technology features like Lineup Driver Assist and more safety tech. If you don’t need as much towing capacity, check out the Nissan Frontier.    

2022 Toyota Tundra 

This model year of the Toyota Tundra underwent a complete redesign. Toyota’s i-FORCE Twin-Turbo V6 engine delivers 389 horsepower and 479 lb.-ft. of torque, or the i-FORCE MAX will give 437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. of torque. The Tundra offers 12,000 lbs. of max towing and can carry a payload of up to 1,940 lbs. Be sure to also check out the Tacoma which has up to 6,800 lbs. of towing capacity.  

2022 Ram 3500

Offering the biggest towing capacity on the list is the Ram 3500 which can pull 37,090 lbs. when equipped with the 6.7L High-Output Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine. The Ram also offers a host of technology features including a digital rearview mirror when in tow mode, so you can see what’s behind your trailer. If this is more towing power than you need, check out the Ram 1500 which can still tow an impressive 12,750 lbs. with the 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine.

You may be wondering what the “GR” stands for on some of Toyota’s sporting models. The answer is GAZOO Racing, which is Toyota’s motorsports division.  

GAZOO History 

Toyota has been involved in motorsports for more than 60 years. The automaker had three different racing divisions with different names, but they are now all under the GAZOO umbrella. GAZOO comes from the Japanese word “gazo” which means “image.” The GAZOO team competes in motorsports events worldwide and has had five a Le Mans wins. The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team is also currently undefeated in the FIA World Rally Championship and will be defending their Rally1 title this August 2022. The team is also particularly proud of the president of Toyota Motor Corporation and master driver, Akio Toyoda, who drives the racing and motorsports vehicles and takes part in races himself. 

Available GR Models 

Toyota GAZOO Racing offers the GR series of Pure Sports road cars and Sport vehicles which give the everyday driver the motorsports feel and performance they crave. Here’s a bit more about the three GR Pure Sports models that are available in the U.S.: 

2022 GR Supra

The GR Supra comes equipped with a 2.0-liter or 3.0-liter engine. The 2.0-liter, turbocharged, inline four-cylinder engine produces 255 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft of torque. The 3.0-liter, turbocharged, inline six-cylinder engine produces 382 horsepower with 368 lb.-ft of torque. The GR Supra boasts an Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) that provides performance handling, as well as Brembo® brakes to help drivers stop on a dime. Exterior curves not only give the GR Supra its racing look, but were designed to optimize downforce while the interior is tricked out with sport seats, a digital display and the technology integrations drivers want.    

2023 GR86

We’re anxiously awaiting the arrival of the 2023 GR86. This beast will come with a new 2.4-liter, four-cylinder boxer engine that will produce 228 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. The GR86 comes with dual cat-back exhaust system that increases performance and gives the vehicle the throaty exhaust sound that you’d want from a race-inspired car. Available in both an automatic and manual transmission, the automatic has paddle shifters with Dynamic Rev Management. The long hood stands out here in the exterior design and the interior comes with fantastic tech including available eight-speaker sound system complete with subwoofer. 

2023 GR Corolla

Anticipated to arrive on the lot fall of 2022, the GR Corolla is far from what you might expect from the name Corolla. This is a rally-inspired hatch with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine cranking out 300 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque. Available as a 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT), the GR Corolla also has a circuit-tuned suspension and the GR-FOUR AWD system. A more aggressive exterior design draws attention to flared fenders and a rear diffuser.

2023 Ford Explorer

Anticipated to launch in 2023, the all-electric Ford Explorer EV will join ranks with the standard gas engine and hybrid versions. So, you’ll be able to get an Explorer in the style that best fits your needs. 

2024 Honda Prologue

There’s a lot we still don’t know about the Honda Prologue, but we’re keeping our ears open for news of this fully electric SUV.  

2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6

Coming early 2023, the IONIQ 6 is sleek with head-turning curves. Equipped with ultra-fast charging and full of technology appointments it is sure to be a crowd pleaser. 

2024 Kia EV9

Details about the EV9 are still being announced. The SUV is expected to provide an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles. Concepts also show three rows of seating with the ability to turn both front seats and back seats completely around when in Pause Mode, which turns the vehicle into a hangout space when not in motion.  

2024 Jeep EV

Jeep is coming out with its first all-electric vehicle and more information is expected soon. Car and Driver estimates a range of 250 miles with an all-wheel drive option.  

2023 Lexus RZ 450e

The fully electric 2023 Lexus RZ 450e should be available December 2022. The vehicle will offer up to 225 miles of range with Direct4 all-wheel drive and will go from 0-60 is about 5.2 seconds. Pre-orders are open now! 

2024 Maserati Grecale Folgore

Made in Italy, this fully electric SUV is packed with performance. Drivers of the Grecale Folgore will get over 500 horse-power from the 400V high efficiency and high capacity battery, plus the exceptional driving experience you’d expect from a Maserati. 

2023 Nissan Ariya

Reservations for the 2023 Nissan Ariya crossover are already closed, but that doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to get one from your local dealership. With available extended range battery and e-4ORCE twin-motor all-wheel drive, the Ariya is on everyone’s radar. 

2023 Volkswagen ID. Buzz

A throwback that will make you smile, the ID Buzz is modeled after the iconic VW Bus. The European release is happening first, so we’ll expect to see these brightening up the streets in the U.S. in late 2023. 

2023 Subaru Solterra

The 2023 Subaru Solterra SUV offers plenty of ground clearance, ample cargo space and will be equipped with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. It’s also packed with technology and safety features. 

2023 Toyota bZ4X

A smooth ride, futuristic design and net positive carbon impact are key features of the 2023 Toyota bZ4X. This all-electric vehicle is estimated to have 250 miles of driving range.

5 Things to Know About Your Car 

Here are the top five things you should know about your vehicle: 

1. Maintenance schedule 

All vehicles will come with a maintenance schedule. The maintenance schedule will include things such as when to change various fluids and when to inspect other mechanical parts. It’s probably available for reference in your owner’s manual or possibly in a supplemental booklet. By following manufacturer’s maintenance schedule, you can be sure to prolong your vehicle’s life.  

2. Dash light meanings 

If you’ve ever been driving and have a dash light pop up you know that feeling of panic that quickly washes over you. What does this mean? Is it an emergency or can it wait? Can I safely complete my drive? To best take care of your vehicle and for your safety while operating your car, it’s important to know the meanings of your dash lights.   

3. Identification info 

It’s incredibly important to know your vehicle’s year, make and model. You’ll also want to know your VIN. This is the 17-digit identification code that provides a host of information about your car. You might not be able to memorize this like the year, make and model, but you should know where to find it on your vehicle. One place is stamped on a metal plate viewable from the outside where your dash meets your windshield. You should also have it available somewhere else in case of an emergency. Many insurance companies will print the VIN on your insurance card, so that might be a good place to reference it if needed.
