Palm Desert Road Trip

What is the best way to explore Southern California? Road trip! There’s nothing quite like being able to hop in your vehicle and be only a few hours away from something totally new and exciting. The best thing about a road trip is that you have complete control over your schedule, can determine when you leave, when and where you make stops and what attractions you visit at your destination.

Palm Desert Road Trip

You might be familiar with Palm Desert as it’s right next to the Coachella Valley, home to the popular Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Whether you’re going there for the festival, or simply want to check out the area, there’s a lot to see, do and eat in Palm Desert. Check out our sample road trip itinerary below!

10:00 AM
Load up your 2022 Jeep Compass Latitude from Jeep and Chrysler of Ontario.

10:30 AM
Grab some coffee and breakfast or a pastry for the road at klatch coffee. Head out!

12:00 PM
Check out Hadley’s Fruit Orchards for lunch at their cafe and then select some delicious snacks for your room. Don’t forget to get one of their famous date shakes for dessert!

1:00 PM
Make a stop at the Cabazon Outlets for some great shopping and, if you’re in a whimsical mood, you can swing by the Cabazon Dinosaurs before getting back on the road.

3:30 PM
Arrive in Palm Desert and get settled in your room at Hotel Paseo. The hotel is located near the award-winning Desert Willow Golf Resort and is also near The Shops on El Paseo which is a luxury shopping district.

5:30 PM
Head out for an evening stroll and get some steps in while checking out the immediate area before enjoying some enchiladas de mole and specialty margaritas at Fresh Agave Mexican Bar and Grill

8:00 PM
Go back to your hotel to appreciate the evening desert air and relax at one of the hotel’s outdoor firepits.

The Next Day

9:00 AM
Breakfast on site at the Larkspur Grill which features plenty of morning fare including a Make Your Own Scramble meal with a variety of mix-ins.

10:30 AM
Time to go out and explore! You might book a round of golf at the Desert Willow Golf Resort or take some time for yourself at one of the many spas in the area.

Consider booking a Red Jeep Tour of the San Andreas Fault or the nearby Painted Canyon Tour which will take you into nature and off roading with an expert.

If you want some quite time in the outdoors, try a hike or bike trip in one of the local canyons. Pack a lunch and some snacks and lots of water to stay out all day, or connect with nature in the morning and then head back to the hotel, clean up for lunch and then shop or relax in town.

1:00 PM
If you’re having lunch in town, try Keedy’s Fountain and Grill which has a fun 50s vibe with great diner classics and shakes.

2:00 PM
Enjoy your afternoon plans either shopping, heading out to a trail, relaxing at a spa, soaking up sun at the hotel pool or taking a quick trip down the highway to check out Palm Springs.

6:30 PM
Reservations at Sullivan’s Steakhouse which is walking distance from the hotel. After the full day you’ve had an evening of fine dining will be a welcome close to your weekend trip. Head to the bar after your meal for some drinks and dessert.

The Next Day

10:00 AM
Pack up the Jeep and get ready to head back home. Check out of the hotel.

10:30 AM
Grab some coffee and a breakfast bagel at IW Coffee Chai Bar

11:00 AM

Ford is bringing electric power to their popular pickup. The F-150 has been America’s best-selling truck for 44 years, and the EV version is already making a splash. Delivery of reserved vehicles is anticipated to begin spring of this year. The extended range battery has an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles.

2023 Honda HR-V

The new Honda crossover will have four different model options and will be coming to dealerships in the first half of 2022.
